Information You Submit
Search Terms
A name, place, or other term entered into a search box is sent to the outside provider that operates the tool. Lake County Released Inmates does not keep or log those search terms on its own system.
Messages Sent to Us
If you send an email or contact message, we retain the information needed to review and answer it. We do not share the message beyond the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Automatic Technical Information
Standard logs and measurement tools may collect basic technical details when a page loads, including:
- The device's Internet Protocol address.
- The browser name and version.
- The device type and operating system.
- Pages viewed and time spent on them.
- The referring website, when supplied.
- The date and time of each request.
Cookie Use
Cookies help measure how visitors move through the site. Browser controls can block or remove them, although a search or other feature may work differently when cookies are disabled.
How Information Is Used
Collected information supports ordinary operation and improvement of the site. Uses include:
- Keeping pages available and responsive.
- Routing a submitted search to the selected partner.
- Learning which Lake County pages readers use.
- Diagnosing errors and other technical problems.
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests.
Outside Links and Services
Links lead to sheriff and corrections pages, release-record portals, courts, federal locators, and independent search services. Once a visitor opens another site, that operator's privacy notice controls its collection and use.
Some advertising companies may measure activity across multiple websites to select ads. That processing occurs on the advertiser's systems, not in records maintained by Lake County Released Inmates.
When Information May Be Shared
We do not sell personal information. Limited information may still be provided to:
- Search partners that process submitted queries.
- Analytics providers that measure site use.
- Advertising networks that deliver ads.
- Law-enforcement or government bodies acting under a valid legal order.
Reasonable Security Measures
We use standard safeguards suited to a public reference website. No internet service can be guaranteed safe from every error, intrusion, or loss, so we cannot promise breach-proof storage or transmission.
Visitors Under Eighteen
This site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted information may contact us to request deletion.
Your Information Choices
Subject to applicable law and our ability to verify the request, a visitor may ask us to:
- Provide a copy of personal information we hold.
- Correct inaccurate personal information.
- Delete personal information when required.
- Stop certain processing when an opt-out right applies.
Changes to This Notice
We may revise this notice as site practices or legal requirements change. An updated version will appear here with a new effective date.
